@xmasbaby0 and everyone else.
I figured it out. Apparently, the mysterious account/routing # was Credit Karma, for which (unknowingly?) Whatever benefit for checking that "box" was null and void, and no communication from TurboTax or Credit Karma was received. They had all my info, but nothing like "thanks for opening an account, all your tax money is here, access it all you want". Not one email, call as they had my info.
I'm sure I shouldn't have agreed to Credit Karma, but the lack of communication is very discouraging from Credit Karma and TurboTax. Now let's see how long it takes to get that money to me.
@DC1973 Good grief. Glad you are figuring it out. Somewhere along the way did you click on something related to getting a refund advance loan? That would have entailed agreeing to using Credit Karma to receive your refund. Did Credit Karma send you a card? When you open an account and agree to have your refund go to Credit Karma they are supposed to send you a card.

If you e-filed:
Banking information for direct deposit is wrong or closed
If you entered incorrect banking information for your refund, you can change it if your return is rejected. If it is accepted, however, it is too late to change it. The bank will reject the refund and send it back to the IRS.
You may get this notice— a cp53a notice
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/understanding-your-cp53a-notice
If you take NO action—-the IRS will freeze your refund for at least six weeks and then mail you a check.
If your refund is sent back to the IRS—- make certain that the address you entered on your Form 1040 is correct. And…open all mail, even if it looks like junk mail.
This happened to me, I filled for the 5 day early and my back account was compromised a week before so it has a hold on any out or incoming transactions while they're looking into it. After 18 hours between cross River, turbo, Intuit and 50-11 product support operators.... Today I got someone that was great and checked into everything. It was reflected the 19th and she gave me my check number and said it should mail today or tomorrow to my address on file
If the fees are taken out of the refund Intuit will send the check to you, not the IRS. Best bet is to get on the phone with them and keep calling until you get someone that knows what they're doing. Took me 6 days and about 18 hours but mine will be sent out today or tomorrow from intuit
If your bank rejects your tax refund due to entering in the wrong account number or one number off how long will it take the IRS to mail the paper check to you?
It can take up to 7 weeks for the IRS to issue a paper check after a bank rejects a direct deposit.
I am going through the same issue. First turbo tax said they didn’t have it. Then after multiple calls they claim it was sent back to the irs. Most of the agents are not saying the same thing at turbo tax or irs. And 1 out of 2 of the managers I spoke with at turbo tax was rude. It makes no sense that they don’t know where my money is or what bank was it sent back to
Which one told you about your check? Turbo intuit or cross river
