amended 1040

I tried to prepare an amended 1040Sr to reflect a corrected 1099div I received.  Turbotax created another 1040 rather than the 1040X.  How do I get it to print? this is an amendment

You did not amend correctly if you did not prepare a 1040X.  Restore your return to the original appearance and try again--this time using a Form 1040X.

How do I amend my 2019 TurboTax Online return?

A 1040X cannot be e-filed.  It must be printed and mailed.  It will take about 4 months for the IRS to process an amended return.  It is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it, like UPS or certified mail, so you will know it was received.

Repeated tries to find the problem have not been successful.  Will prepare a manual paper 1040X as an alternative to TurboTax amended return.
