I recently filed my 2019 taxes for the first time and accidentally selected the box stating that someone could claim me as dependent, however no one can. I am a 23 year old who has a full time job. I live with my parents but I am not disabled and do not qualify as a qualified child or relative so they cannot claim me as dependent. Should I amend my tax return as I already received my refund about 2 months ago, or does this not make a difference with my return? I am also concerned with the upcoming stimulus checks being sent out.

If you indicated on your tax return that you can be claimed as a dependent by someone else, then you are not eligible for the stimulus.
If you are 23, not a full-time student and has income of more than $4,200 in 2019, then no one can claim you as a dependent. You must then file an amended return to receive the stimulus payment.
To amend your return, please follow the instructions in this TurboTax Help topic.
Do you have to amend both the federal and the state taxes in this scenario?
Yes, you will have to amend federal and state.
Could it be a shorter amount of time since I am only changing the status of me being claimed?
No
