It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks for your tax return to go from acceptance to approval. Once approved, you may track any anticipated refund by using the link below:

I just e-filed and need my return to be 'Accepted' (not just received) for my mortgage to go through- closing is scheduled in about 10 days and may need to be pushed out (?). I think the standard is 3-4 weeks but I'm hoping it will be quicker since we're relatively earlier in tax return season. Was anyone's return recently accepted in under 3 weeks?

The average time for a return to be approved is 21 days or less. Beyond 21 days is usually the exception. The best way to keep track of your return is to check on the Where's My Refund? site. Unfortunately, there is no way to get the IRS to speed up their processes.
