Questioning Dependency status for Covid stimulus

Hello, I have already filed my 2019 tax return and I chose "someone can claim me as a dependent". But after I filed my taxes and my parents went to file theirs, it turns out I am not eligible to be claimed as a dependent anymore. Would this leave me with a dependent status(leaving me not eligible for the COVID stimulus check) or would that conclude as me not being a dependent(leaving me eligible for the COVID stimulus check)? Thank you.

You'll need to amend your tax return to change to the fact that you cannot be claimed as a dependent to be eligible for the stimulus payment.

To amend your return, please follow the instructions in this TurboTax Help topic.

Thank you for responding, at this point, I'm a bit confused as the information I've received from multiple places state different things. Having already received my state and federal refund, can I still update it? Again thank you.

You can't really update it since IRS has you on file as one that is a dependent of someone else. The only method of updating is the amended return.
