Question on Forms 8453 and 8949

Hi,

I just e-filed my federal return yesterday, and after I'd sent my file, Turbo Tax told me I had to mail in forms 8453 and 8949. I searched for the issue and found the following post. As with others, I'm really upset that Turbo Tax did not warn me about this during the Smart Check or some other time before my return was completed.

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/why-did-turbotax-make-me-print-form-8453-referenc...

Turbo Tax says the IRS has already accepted my return, so I'm wondering if there is any way to use the 'Amend a Filed Return' option, import all the missing transactions from my broker and refile my return? If not, can I at least import the transactions and print form 8949 out of Turbo Tax? It appears my only other alternative would be to print and mail in form 8453 and the 30-page Combined Forms 1099 from my broker - is that correct?

Thanks for your help!

Question on Forms 8453 and 8949

Make sure your Filing Instructions page in your tax file PDF says that you need to mail in Form 8949.

Form 8949 is Efiled with your return.

If you originally entered a summary of sales on Form 8949, you are correct that you need to send detailed broker info to the IRS, if your return contained certain types of transactions.

You don't need to Amend your Return to do this, though.
