How long will it take my bank, I got my refund direct deposited into to reject the deposit? IRS says it sent it to my bank on the 22nd and has not received rejection yet

I found out that it will be rejected because i used an old routing number that my bank apparently no longer uses. So they said it will just be rejected and sent back. On my where's my refund it says that it got sent to the bank on the Feb 22nd but when i called the IRS they said they have not received the rejection yet. Why is it taking our bank so long to reject the refund?
