Hi, I thought I paid through direct deposit for my federal return yesterday but it hasn't come out of my bank. Do I need to send a check or is it pending in my bank?

Please allow at least three business days for the direct debit to hit your bank account.

Thanks but I am referring to a payment owed to the IRS not a refund.  How do I know that it will be coming out of my account or if I need to send a check today

I understood you exactly. As you requested the direct debit yesterday (Sunday), the payment will be processed by the IRS today and it may take up to three working days for the debit to show in your account. Do not send a check. Hope this helps!
