pay by direct debit - how long to clear

would like to pay by direct debit.

found my account was 3000 short and deposited funds this afternoon.

if I pay direct debit, how long does it take to usually clear my bank.

I Assume ACH, 1-2 days....which would probably be perfect.

I suggest you ask your bank. I just filed my tax return and paid by direct debit too. TurboTax stated that while it may take a few days for the processing, today's date on my computer, when filing, would be the payment date.
