There a 6 new schedules for 2018 but they are only part of the tax return if needed.
The new "simplified" 1040 form for 2018 is now the only 1040 form. The old 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ have all been replaced with the new 1040 and 6 new schedules for additional items that are transfer to the new 1040.

That is the NEW postcard size 1040. Under the new tax laws, there are no more simple Form 1040EZ or 1040A's. Everything goes on a little Form 1040 that has six extra "schedules" with it, and if you need any of those schedules, you are not able to use the Free Edition. The new 1040 is 2 half pages but now print on 1 sheet with the Signature line in the Middle.
