My taxes been Processing since Jan 30th!

Hey Turbo Tax! My taxes were accepted January 30th, everything was filed correctly and I have already received my state return but my FEDERAL is still in “PROCESSING”? I have tried more than 10 times trying to get ahold of the IRS, called super early in the morning, called later in the day and even tried making an appt with an IRS office in San Marcos and San Diego but their system won’t take any appointments. I looked up all the IRS TOPICS that could relate to my taxes taking longer but turns out none of the reasons apply to my federal taxes. Spoke to a TurboTax representative and they gave me a number to and I quote “jump the line” in order to speak to someone at the IRS. That was a bust too. It has been well over the 21 days, and I have no issues with my taxes filed. Where is my return? Why is it taking more than 30 days for any correspondence or to deposit my refund? @presidentofintuit

At Turbo Tax, we have no insight into the processing timeframe surrounding refunds - only the IRS can provide details there. With that said, there are common reasons that would make some refunds take longer than others to process. However, it sounds like you have done your research and reviewed those details already. Just in case, I have included a few resources below for your reference:

Refund taking longer than 21 days

Why do some refunds take longer than others?

Contacting your IRS local office

I am also including some tips below as it relates to being able to get to an agent when calling the general IRS phone number:

After choosing your language,  do NOT choose Option 1 after (refund info) instead  choose option 2 for (personal income tax) instead. From there follow the steps below.

  • press 1 for form, tax history, or payment.
  • press 3 for all other questions
  • press 2 for all other questions

When you are asked  to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, do not enter anything. You will get to another menu once it asks you for it again. You will then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions and should be transferred to an agent after that.
