My return hasn’t approved after 21 days

I called the IRS this past week, I was informed that refunds for people with earned income tax credit and addition child tax credit started to be completed and refunded on Feb 15th. Was informed that the completion & disbursement of those refunds will continue through the week of Feb 27th. (Until March 2nd) so I was informed that if I do not have a change on the status online and haven’t gotten my refund by March 2nd to call them so they can see what’s going on. But until March 2nd they’re just going to tell you to wait and won’t even look into it simply because EITC & ACTC refunds are still being completed until then and disbursed until then. So good luck but if there’s no changes online and you’ve not gotten a refund by this coming a Friday, March 2nd, 2018. Call the IRS to see what is going on. Good luck! I’ve still not gotten mine and it’s still “being processed,” and I filed on January 24th and the IRS received it a few days later.

Even though the IRS issues 9 out of 10 tax refunds within 21 days, it's possible your return may require additional review and take longer to process.  IRS representatives will be able to research the status of your refund if your return was accepted (received) more than 21 calendar days ago. Call them at 1-800-829-1040, but prepare for potentially long wait times.

For some taxpayers, the identity-protection safeguards implemented by the IRS in recent years may account for longer wait times.

Other things that can delay your refund include but are not limited to:

    Liens, back taxes, or refund offsets;
    Errors, inconsistencies, or missing information;
    Identity fraud;
    Form 8397, Injured Spouse Allocation, which can take 11-14 weeks to process.
