My federal was accepted almost 3 days ago, so why is my state still pending?

You should name the state to see if anyone who has filed a return in that state can comment.  It's likely that some states are not ready to start processing efiled returns yet.  Some states may time their opening with the IRS's opening date.  The IRS is scheduled to being processing on January 27, except for a few the IRS pulls early for testing purposes.    Since you say your Federal return has been accepted, then it sounds like you were one of those few returns pulled early by the IRS.
