I filed on Turbo tax on the 2nd of February 2022 . My full tax refund is supposed to be $5200. I only received $1800 in my savings account , I am missing exactly $3400 of my tax refund! I do not owe any money to anybody or any service so there is absolutely no reason why I don’t have my full tax refund in my account. I called Turbo Tax on 3/12/2022 and they told me they can’t do anything about it that I have to call the IRS, which I did but yet I can’t get threw to them for some reason. The IRS literally hung up on me with any line I tried to get threw too to them on. I have not been able to speak to a single real person over the phone with the IRS . I need the rest of my Tax refund ASAP please and thank you !!I need help!! Where is the rest of my tax refund ?????

Does the IRS federal tax refund website show the amount sent is less than what was reported on your tax return? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If so, you will need to wait for the IRS to send you a letter which will have the changes the IRS made to the return which changed the refund. If you disagree with the IRS there will be a procedure in the letter to dispute the IRS changes.
I have gone to this website multiple times , it tells me the same thing every time. This is what I get … @DoninGA
I put the same information in , it’s all correct so the response I keep getting from the IRS is BS. I would really appreciate it if you could get me threw to someone who knows what I need to do In order to obtain the rest of refund back . I don’t need any generic answers , I need actual help that’s gonna get me real results please and thank you! @DoninGA
@Rose241 Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
We do not know if you e-filed your tax return so that is why we also ask if you e-filed your tax return did you receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email would be when the tax return was transmitted and the second email when the IRS either Accepted or Rejected your return.
If Accepted and the IRS indicates it does not have any information at this time, that would probably mean the return status is between being received and being processed.
What date was the return Accepted by the IRS?
Has the IRS website ever indicated that the tax return was Accepted/Received, Processed, Approved or Sent?
this is a public forum, we can do nothing.
Turbotax merely provides a means to prepare your return and file it, it can do nothing
the IRS is in full control of your refund. evidently, it found or thinks it found errors and so reduced your refund.
when you get the notice, there should be info on how to refute the IRS changes.
calling the IRS is a waste of time, even if they told you the reason, any objection would likely have to be submitted in writing with proof.
So am I. The IRS website shows my refund has been approved for deposit and my refund amount is $7100. However it doesn't show yet that the refund has been sent. But I got $3800 in my account and the rest is missing. I called TPG which is who Turbo Tax uses to transfer their money and they gave me the treasury dept number to find out what they took the money for bc apparently I owed someone. Well I called the number and there is no record of me owing anyone anything or anyone taking that $3200 that's missing.
Same with mine my state one was supposed to get taken they even sent a letter to verify they had stopped it, but my fed return should have been just south of $3000 and I paid the upgrade fee of $122 for turbo deluxe version. So I was expecting around $2500-$2600 give or take. Yesterday I received $1200 and nothing else like what kinda math are they using. I have no debts that would affect my fed return but somehow over half of what I was supposed to receive didn't get to me!!! I'm livid about this!!!
So what I found out from one of my bank reps is that there are certain codes on the transcripts when we file I was supposed to get $11180 on 3/6 and ended up getting $5590 on 3/2 which is not even the date IRS has. I had called the IRS first which the 800 # ending in1040 you have to listen to the prompts to get to a live person and i tried several routes and they didn't even know what was going on because it showed with them I owed nothing and the whole amount was supposed to be deposited. When i created an account on the IRS website (which i recommend) you can view your transcripts and on mine showed like -$11180 but that means its not negative its credited and then i saw two amounts of $5590. What my BANK rep stated she had the same issue and its just one is state and the other is federal which i have no idea why the heck that is happening now can never trust the IRS, but you will get one payment early and the other later but funny thing is there is no date when the other half will come in. IRS told me since I had called on the my deposited date I had to wait 5 days so they can do a trace which I will have to do on 3/11 if i don't receive it. It sucks i know trust me I have never gone through this before but hopefully this brings some hope to others as it has for me in a way lol
They did the same to me. They owe me half my return. The irs website listed more than what turbo tax estimated and can’t even figure out where the other half of my Return went.

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/
