Hey guys an answer to many. NO it does NOT take the whole 45 or 60 days. It can be resolved before. I got my letter dated Mar 7th that it would take 60 days. But thank God, it has finally been approved and deposited in my acct. Dont lose faith, I almost did. Hang in there.

This is such B.S. I gaurantee they will come back with some shit like, ohhhh, you didn't actually get that amount or some [Profanity removed]. I made 14k last year because I was on maternity leave for about 4 months, and when I returned back to working, I took a position working from home where I made less, but did not have to pay childcare for my baby.

I filed on Feb 5th. I have been filing my taxes for the past 15 years, past 10 years I have have a child I claimed, NEVER, not once in those 15 years, have I ever had this issue.

And they don't even tell you anything when you call!!! So shady. "Additional review"....additional review of what?!?! My 2 employers?? 1 of which was the SAME from the year prior??
Additional review of my SAME kids I have beem claiming for years??

Like what in the actual hell are they reviewing??
How about they review BUSINESS owners & the taxes they file/dont file!!

Not people who are barely making a living, working for employers with EIN's that can EASILY be verified!!!

I just received another letter in the mail. Stating they are holding my taxes for further review and I will either have my refund on may 2nd or another notice. I'm so mad

Has anyone else received that letter after their 60 day letter?

Nope, but they can do that as much as they want unfortunately. However, after April 15th they will have to start paying interest to you.

What you mean paying interest to you?

I have informed mail daily, so I can see what is coming in the mail to me. I see that today I am receiving something from the IRS, and how funny, today marks 45 days since I filed my return.

If they ask about that form 8962, they are sadly mistaken considering that is regarding healthcare purchased through the market, and I did not do so. So, if that is the case & what they are asking me to do, then they have delayed my refund for absolutely no reason at all.

I find it to be absolute [Profanity removed] that they won't tell you by phone what they are "additionally reviewing". I had the same thought as someone above, if I knew what it is they want to review, I can help get them whatever extra information or documents they need/want.

Unfortunately, they won't disclose that information, because they want to hold off on handing out the refund as long as possible it seems. Seems a little CROOKED if you ask me.

I wanted to chime in with you all to give y'all some encouragement because it was @skittles.1985 that gave me some hope. I received my review letter on the 18th also with the 90 day letter saying May 2nd. Well I checked WMR around 5a.m this morning & I have a DDD for the 27th!!!! So keep the faith everyone we don't have to wait 45 days.

I never received the 45 day letter but I received a 60 day letter and then I received a letter after the 60 days stating there holding my refund and till may 2nd for review and I will either get my refund deposited by may 2nd or another statement and the mail I was filed and accepted on February 1st I didn't receive my 60 day letter and till March 15th then March 19th I received the last letter
