If you entered a Form 1099-R for a retirement distribution, you may then be asked if you had a RMD for this account. If this applies, enter your RMD amount if you know it, or enter an amount equal to or less than your distribution. If RMD doesn't apply to you (or you took your RMD from another account), enter $0. Neither the IRS nor TurboTax knows what your RMD should be; they expect that you and/or your plan administrator will have the correct amount distributed to you.
Unless you know that you didn't take your RMD in 2024, you should not have Form 5329. You can go back to your 1099-R entry in your Federal return and step through the section again. If you're using TurboTax Online, clear your Cache and Cookies first.
If Form 5329 remains, here's How to Delete Forms in TurboTax Online. In TurboTax Desktop, you can delete the form by using FORMS, then 'Open Form' and click on 'Delete Form' at the bottom when the form is displayed.
