I lost my W2 and I asked for a copy from my employer. My employer give me a Copy A, which said 'For Social Security Administration, photocopies are not acceptable'. Does it also work for me to file my tax return

Yes, it'll work. When you asked your employer for the W-2, they simply gave you the top copy (copy A). If you're filing on paper, you'll include that copy A with the return (but make a copy for yourself so you have it for your records).
