MAIL FEDERAL TAX "YOUR RETURN IS NOT PROCESSING"

Good morning,

I mailed my 2021 taxes to IRS. I did certified and according to USPS they arrived on 2/14/2022. I checked the status of my 2021 return taxes using the IRS refund tracker and the website does not list any information it all. Then i tried log in to my IRS account using my ID.me account and the webiste display a message that reads "YOUR RETURN IS NOT PROCESSING" . I have gotten any notification yet from the IRS and have tried contacting them but not luck getting a live person.. At this point i am worried and may be be you can shed a light of what that means of what direction to take..

Mailed 2021 tax returns are taking the IRS months before they start processing the tax return.  You will need a lot of patience this year.

The IRS is opening mail within normal timeframes and all paper and electronic individual refund returns received prior to April 2021 have been processed if the return had no errors or did not require further review. 

As of April 22, 2022, we had 9.8 million unprocessed individual returns which include returns received before 2022, and new tax year 2021 returns. Of these, 3.6 million returns require error correction or other special handling, and 6.2 million are paper returns waiting to be reviewed and processed.

Thank you for your faster response. However, The statement listed on the account " Your return is not Processed" indicate to me that there is issues with my return them?

No.  It means your paper return is sitting on someone's desk at the IRS, and hasn't been keyed into their system yet.  Also see:
