LTR 12C - Case Closed - Greater Than 60 Days - Return Not Processed & No Refund

Hello TurboTax Community!  

I filed my 2025 federal tax return through TurboTax on March 3, 2026. On March 23, 2026, I received IRS Letter 12C requesting additional information. I responded through the IRS secure portal on March 26, 2026, and later received an email indicating the case was closed.

However, my return still has not been processed, and I have not received my refund. 

Has anyone experienced this after responding to a 12C letter through the IRS portal? What should my next step be? Should I contact the IRS directly, wait longer, or is there another way to confirm that my submitted documents were accepted and my return is moving forward?

The 12C info page on the IRS websites...says 6-8 Weeks.

But the IRS has been understaffed...could be longer.

Thanks @SteamTrain … I appreciate the additional context..wasn’t sure if the 6-8 weeks+ was typical given the case closed response…
