Living in tennessee getting letters from texas IRS

If we havent lived in texas to file taxes and we live in tennessee filing taxes why are we getting papers from texas

Texas does not have a state income tax.  Be sure to look at the papers carefully to be sure they are not for some other type of tax.  You should also be careful that the papers are real and not just a "phishing" attempt by some unscrupulous people.
