Paying the TurboTax account fees does not file a tax return.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
The 2022 tax return can now only be printed, signed, dated and mailed by you to the IRS and the state return to your State.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
Paying you fees did not file your tax return. You had to go all the way through the FILE section and click a big orange button that said "Transmit my returns now." If you did not do that then you did not e-file. Or if it rejected, you had to fix it and re-file or mail it.
E-filing is permanently closed for 2022 returns now. The only way to file a 2022 return is by mail. Print, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline. If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.
We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
Are you saying that you paid for Full Service last year, but your assigned Tax Expert didn't file your return?
