Last night, I completed my tax return, just short of filing. Today, Turbotax 2024 is acting like I never registered and my completed tax forms are no longer available.

This is the mysterious and unexplained  disappearing tax return.

Every tax season, at least one taxpayer reports this. Sometimes quite a few.

I believe that the app switched my user session (or my default file system location) to my admin account/user ID.

I found the tax return in the admin account’s personal drive.  (I never use this account).

I downloaded the app from my personal account, and I remember the installation process asking for the admin password, but i was unaware that it made this switch in the background.

So, i am good for now.
