Its been exactly 21 days since my refund got approved or sent to the irs and i have not heard anything other then its being processed a refund date will be available...

Once your return is accepted, the next step is for the government to approve your refund.  It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks for your return to go from accepted to approved.  

Even though the IRS issues 9 out of 10 tax refunds within 21 days, it is possible your return may require additional review and take longer to process.  Please take a look at the following to help put your mind at ease:

There are a few ways you can track your tax return:

IRS representatives will be able to research the status of your refund if your return was accepted (received) more than 21 calendar days ago. Call them at 1-800-829-1040, but prepare for potentially long wait times.
