It's a weird question, because obviously you are putting all your tax information into the program. But technically, Intuit is not allowed to "look" at your info if you don't give permission. The main reason Turbotax would need to "look" at your tax information is to see if you qualify to have your turbotax program fees deducted from your refund. It may also involve the advertisement you may see to open an IRA if you qualify. If you don't want to pay your fees from your refund, you don't have to give consent.
