Is the IRS still automatically sending 2020 unemployment refunds? My son is still waiting to get his payment back. It's been a year so about to amend the return.

He paid in about $2,300 and Turbo Tax says he has been that back plus another $1K. His was a simple return so he should have gotten it by now. It looks like an amended return is going to be necessary (whether they want that or not).

Amending the return won't make him receive his 2020 refund any sooner.

I know it is very hard to reach a live IRS agent, but giving IRS a call might be the best way to go.
