Is the IRS able to process multiple amendments at the same time. with the info from one amendment, if the reason for the amendment is exactly the same ?

I didn't realize I was allowed to claim my brother(whom I support) on a tax return. I thought it was only your children.

So I amended all returns that were still allowed to be amendment.

2017, 2018, 2019 was filed by paper months ago, and still doesn't show in WMAR. Sent to kansas city office. Which I hear is a train wreck because of covid....

2020 was filed electronically. And that one showed up in WMAR within 5 days.

I wrote a note in the "reason for amending" stating that 2017, 18 and 19 was also amended, adding the same dependent. Just so that they're aware that it's supposed to be processing as well.. hoping that it'll show up on WMAR.

Are they able to manually process 2017, 18 and 19 with the info from the efiled 2020? Since the reason for change is exactly the same ?

It takes the IRS 4-6 months to process amended returns.   They are not going to use the information you put on your 2020 return to speed up the processing of the other mailed amended returns you sent in.    Sorry...but you will have to wait patiently for them to process the amended returns for those prior years.  Eventually they should show up on this IRS site:
