Sounds like there is more to this story ... what else did the IRS notice say ? Did they report more income ?
They said:
[We changed the amount claimed as EIC on your tax return. The amount claimed as EIC was figured or entered incorrectly on your return. ]
My PartTurbo tax calculated the credit. all I have entered is 11,263.00 on wages line 1 & 7b & 8b
Line 9 & 11a standard deductions 12,200.00
Federal Tax withheld 176.00 line 17
MY EIC 329.00 on line 18a & 18e
and my refund is 505.00 on lines 19 & 20 & 21a
That is my whole 1040 form
What is your filing status (married, single, etc.) and how many dependents did you claim?

TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support. At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support". Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter. Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.

Single I only had myself claimed as a student
my dad has it but my form was super simple so I should not have needed it.
Did your Dad or someone maybe claim you as a dependent? How old are you?
No because I am over the age he could claim me I am 29
The program would not allow the EIC if the taxpayer was not 25 or older and if they are that old then they could not be a dependent because their income was over $4250. Which is confusing since the IRS is rejecting the EIC ... contact support to see what is going on. It is possible a parent claimed the taxpayer by mistake ... they may need to amend their return.
I am 29 and I just checked my dads 1040 and he has not claimed anybody as a dependent because all his six kids are over age
Contact support ... discuss it with them.
It would be unusual however the program could have made a mistake ... talk to support first then put in an accuracy guarantee claim :
Of course ... the IRS is not always correct either. TBD
My father dealt with them in NY and they were not very intelligent and I am being nice about this. my father had to calm down his accountant(which the accountant thanked my father later) the person at the IRS would not even try to understand what my dads accountant was talking about.
