open your e-mail program and look in the inbox. however original correspondence from the IRS does not come via e-mail. you get a letter by mail. any IRS notices that first appear in your e-mail account are probably fakes trying to get personal info. the only direct notification is if you e-file. then the first e-mail (from Turbotax not the IRS) will say submitted successfully or not. if successful there's a second e-mail that tells you if it was accepted or rejected
TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after the IRS accepts your return for processing, so TT will never know if the IRS sent you a message or a letter. The IRS sends letters to the address you used on your tax return; or there could be a message on the IRS refund site. You can also check your online account on the IRS site.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
