IRS letter asking for 8962

I got a letter from the IRS at the beginning of March asking for 8962.

I filled out the 1040x form using TurboTax and mailed it along with form 8962 following the instructions in the letter.

I haven't received anything from the IRS and when i try to check my refund status for my original return amount it says processing. When i check the status of 1040x amendment on IRS website it says "The information you entered does not match our records. Please try again later."

If i check my refund status for the amended amount, it says " You may not have entered your information correctly. Please verify your personal tax data and try again."

I haven't received my stimulus check because i've read you dont get it if your taxes are being processed.

What can i do?

The IRS stopped processing most paper mail due to COVID in March. So it is likely that your 8962 has still not been processed due to the issues COVID caused. Once your 8962 is processed, then you will be able to track your progress on the Where's My Refund page. This may take months, though. 

Regarding the stimulus, if you don't receive the stimulus payment in 2020, you can always receive it as a credit on your 2020 return in 2021. The stimulus is actually an ADVANCE on a credit on your 2020 return.
