IL1040X software error. On line 33, TTax does NOT enter original overpayment, but the amended one. I override its entry, but it reverts to incorrect entry when printing.

IL1040X software error. On line 33, "Overpayment, if any, as shown on your original Form IL-1040, Line 30",TTax does not enter original overpayment, but the amended one instead. This results in no refund. I override its entry, a correct refund shows, but it reverts to incorrect entry before printing. Solution?

It's not an error it's by design since TT can't be sure the state or federal government won't change the amount.

Thanks for the reply. If TTax enters the amended overpayment, instead of the original (smaller) amount, then the refund is zero. What's the point of filing an amended return in that case? (TTax computes the correct refund for Federal 1040X.)
