If you 'amended' your 2016 tax return but never mailed it in, you didn't really amend it. The original 2016 return is what the IRS has on file.
Unless that return has something that conflicts with your 2017 tax return (e.g. state tax refund?), there shouldn't be any effect on the 2017 return
