The stimulus payment will be based on your 2018 return.
What if you didn't file in 2018? Will they automatically go by my recent filed 2019?
I just saw one article reading that the stimulus would be based on 2019 filing but nothing has been passed yet.
It will be going off of your 2019 taxes unless you haven't filed yet, then it will be going off of your 2018 taxes. My question is that I filed 01/27 accepted 01/31, however my taxes got pulled for a random 60-day review ( waiting until April) I received the refund advance from turbo tax, since I haven't gotten my taxes to pay that yet, will it come out of the stimulus check or not since they are unrelated?? Freaking out because my employer has laid us off due to covid concerns, really could use this money, don't get me wrong I expect them to take out of my taxes just not out of stimulus money with all that's going on!!
We don't have guidance on that from the IRS yet. But it sounds like stimulus checks are separate from the refund and possible application of the refund to liabilities in arrears. So you should be receiving the full amount of the stimulus amount if otherwise qualified.
