If your name does not match chances are the bank will reject the IRS's direct-deposit request because the name on the refund (yours) doesn't match the account holder's name. The IRS will then have to re-process the refund, cut a check, and send it by mail. You will (eventually) get your refund, but it'll take longer.

That has happened to me. The direct deposit was setup with my wife’s bank account and she is on the tax return, we filed jointly. There was no option as far as this is my wife’s account. How can this be resolved?
You may want to speak to your bank to see if they think that they will accept the deposit since she was also on the tax return filed. If they will not accept it or it has already been rejected the deposit the IRS will mail you a check to the address listed on your recently filed tax return.
