May I ask what form TurboTax is stating must be filed by mail?
It doesn't. It's the Kansas Information Worksheet. Quite literally the only information is:
"Information Worksheet: Direct deposit yes box should not be checked, direct deposit is not available for this main form filed on paper."
And it leads me to a section on the Kansas Information Worksheet that is a Yes/No bubble labelled:
"Do you want to elect direct deposit of state tax refund (Electronic Filing Only)?"
To my knowledge, I elected to have nothing mailed in and am trying to e-file everything and have direct deposit. I didn't file originally because it said there was a form that wasn't available yet; it's not asking to fill that form now, just this weird "Check This Entry" screen described above.
There were a lot of state tax return forms that were delayed greatly. And because your form was delayed the system thinks you're going to mail the return in instead of filing electronically.
You should delete the Kansas return altogether and start it over. All the forms have scrambled it up. It will be easier if it starts fresh. If all your forms are ready that will fix the issues.
What did you end up doing to correct this? This is exactly what I’m having a problem with now.
You are commenting on an older thread. What exactly is your return giving the error of? @Poekim
I had a customer with the same issue with Ohio. I believe she filed before all the forms were ready and when she came back to it there was an error where she had to uncheck direct deposit to move forward. But I am not sure if they would still be getting direct deposit or not if they didn't just redo the state form entirely.
