When you receive your Visa card your refund won't automatically be on your card until the IRS or State releases your refund. The IRS states that most refunds are received within 21 days from the time a return has been accepted and a refund option is selected. 

State refund process varies. To check your State return, use your state's refund lookup.

What if my state already approved and it shows the date it was sent, but its not on my turbo visa card yet. When will it be on my card?

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked my state refund and its approved and they said sent to my bank (which would be the turbo visa card) on January 31, 2020. But its not showing up on my card balance? Am I supposed to wait a little longer?

If you applied for a refund advance, your federal refund will be deposited on a Turbo Prepaid Card, the state refund would be deposited into the bank account you provided for State refund.

Yea I understand that, I got my advance. I'm talking about the State refund. So it should've went in to my Turbo card on January 31, 2020, when the state says it got sent to my bank. My question is, where is it? Its February 3 already. So do I wait couple more days? Or should it already be in my account.

It can take your bank another few days to post the debit to your account. Please refer to the following article.

I have that same situation. My state refund is supposed to be deposited onto my turbo tax debit card. It says they sent the money to my bank (which again would he the turbo tax debit card) on February 4th. But I dont have it and was curious to see how long i would have to wait. Seems like i'd pribably have to wait a week or so. I'll update wheb i get my state refund to help others who may have this same issue

I believe with the turbo card it says up to 4 days earlier with government refunds and up to 2 days earlier with regular employer pay direct deposits.

So I received my state refund in my turbotax card today. So apparently after its been sent to your bank you wait at least a week. My coworker also received hers today as well through her bank and she had the same sent to your bank on January 31, 2020 message as me.

Once your status from the State shows “Refund Sent”, the State has sent your tax refund to your financial institution for direct deposit. It can take 1 to 5 business days for your financial institution to deposit funds into your account. If you requested that your tax refund be mailed, it could take several weeks for your check to arrive.

This timeframe once the refund is sent would also apply to the Federal refunds as well.
