If I didn't make my SEP contribution for 2016 & already filed my return, can I amend and make the contribution? Does it matter if I originally extended my return or not?

If you did not file an extension, it is too late to make a contribution to a SEP.

If you contributed to a SEP before April 18th and just forgot to enter it, yes, you can amend to enter that amount.

So if I did extend but then filed my return since then, can I still amend and make my contribution before October's deadline?
