Solved: I went into Where's My Refund and the status bar was gone, and the message said We are still processing your return we will give you a date soon. Should I be concerned?

It’s a status processing for protection from identity theft I received a letter had to go to identify.it’s.gov and verify my info then it said my return will be processed it said up to 9 weeks but I think that’s for mail in returns I had direct deposit but my process is complete waiting for deposit so if it says still processing you have to do the verification process to get your return if it says still processing but yes my return is on the way now

I think you have to get a letter from the IRS mine still says processing and I filed January 27 / 2022 but the refund bar says nothing, and I have not gotten a letter from them

Ok go into google type identity.it’s.gov if you haven’t done that I’d verification before go to create account then it should be good from that point it should allow you to verify your info there for your return

Refunds usually take about 21 days after the IRS has accepted your e-filed return. Although, sometimes it can take longer. The IRS is taking more than 21 days (and up to 90 to 120 days) to issue refunds for tax returns with the Recovery Rebate Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit and Additional Child Tax Credit. I filed with EITC and advanced child tax credit on Feb 19th. It was accepted that same day. My refund status went from processing with bars to no bars and says the same thing this thread says, refund is still processing and will have deposit date when available. I see this thread says alot about it being because they need to verify identity, but I have an ID.me account so is that something they would do this for even if I have an ID.me account?

It is the same same it’s thru I’d me yes but go to idverify.irs.gov then sign in it wil ask a series of questions that’s it once complete it will say refund will be processed

You can try it if it does it automatically with the sign in your good if it doesn’t u need a letter in the mail but in your case you may receive your refund by the 12 of march according to the 21 day acceptance by irs

It signed me in automatically with my id.me. SO now I am wondering if the status changed to still processing today for some other reason?? I filed EITC and advanced tax credit. But the status was still processing with 1 bar until today when it changed to still processing your return and a deposit date will be given when available. I am not able to order a transcript of this year either.....

It will still say processing until they get to your return and approve it in cases you may get the deposit and it still will say still processing some ppl have received the return and it only says accepted your in good shape just wait up to your 21 day accepted period you should be fine they are also behind on backlog so don’t worry

This is normal. It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to update and show the status. The 21 days is just an estimated time frame. The IRS began processing returns on 2/12, you may not find a record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated.

Since Turbo Tax will not have the status of your refund, continue checking the Where’s My Federal Refund tool for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight.
