I was a student during 2020 and 2021. I never filed returns for those years. Was told that even tho did not make a wage these years should still file for stimulus pymnts

Were you claimed on a parent or someone else's tax return in 2020 and 2021?    Or could you have been claimed?    If you had no income, your parents or whoever supported you would be able to claim you as a dependent and receive stimulus payments.    Prior Year Tax Software

I apologize I guess I should have added more to this. I am also a disabled veteran and did my best to live off of my disability, my school allowance, and my own savings during this time. I was also single and renting a small home with my sibling. So unfortunately do not have anyone to claim me. Can I file for myself and receive any of the funds from that time? Thank you! I appreciate the Expertise 😃

get 2020 Form 1040  and 2021 Form 1040 from IRS.gov

put the stimulus payment(s) you did not get on Line 30.

Fill out the remaining lines.

sign and mail them in, separately.

Yes, you can file those returns and claim the Stimulus payment for 2020 and 2021. fanfare suggested a method to file the returns that you can use and make sure to mail each year separately.
