I self filed a joint tax return, my spouse paid no taxes or had a taxable income. Did I need a 8879? The software didnt give it as an option.

Form 8879 is only used by Professional Tax Preparers, for each of you to authorize them to E-File a tax return for you.

TurboTax is a DIY program, so no 8879 is included.
