I received the message Take Action: Your refund is delayed Reference code 1541. Never seen that in the history of filing my taxes ! Anybody else seen this?

i have read every comment here, I have the same exact code. turbo tax said I had an estimated deposit of the 18th. so I checke WMR.. 1541. I tried calling and calling, no use... 4 of my mom friends have EIC and received their tax checks yesterday!!! they never had the 1541 code. I am now positive it has nothing to do with PATH or EIC. I looked up a few different pages and it seems 1541 means something is wrong, may be minor or huge.. I so mad, I got my state back with child credit. the info is the same so im so confused why its different with the IRS.

The TA said it is different for everyone. A lot of ppl will get the refund the 27th. However a lot more this year will be under review. I have not got my state taxes back, and feel I am going to have to send information to them as well. I dunno, it’s a mess for sure this tax season.

I got 1541, I called Turbo, they said everything look fine, then I called IRS, the man I got seemed very thorough, ask me several questions to prove my identity ask me questions about my employer and income etc.... he says he examined my return carefully and didn't see a letter going out or anything, said it look good, that I should see my return by 27th. But.....I checked my state taxes and it says needs to verify income with employer.... Accepted 28th ..............???????

well accepted just means they received it. it goes accepted,approved,released

Yes, I knew that part but my concern is the 1541 and the state needing to verify income with employer...??? But... it hasn't been 6 weeks for my state yet, it does say wait at least 6 weeks. Just a little nervous I guess, this is the first time I have ever got the 1541!

Just got off phone with the IRS they said I'm being reviewed. Don't understand if they randomly select people to be reviewed how is it that majority of everyone is being reviewed? I should receive a letter telling me I'm under review and there's nothing more needed at this time. I guess they randomly selected TurboTax users this year ugh.

My sister filed with H&R Block. Claimed two kids and her grandchild and she got her taxes back today, said she had no issues. I called H&R Block and the lady was very nice, said a lot are being placed under review this year and it is mainly TurboTax users “ not all” but the majority. How true that is, I don’t know? I am going to fax my paper work tomorrow and call my TA. I’ll update as I go through the process, maybe it will help someone else. Praying that all others don’t have to go through this and you guys are released on the 27th... good luck!

Just got off the phone with the IRS and was told it was selected for review and it won't be reviewed until  March 4th...........So angry right now!

Same here lpuffy333 that's what I was told.   Seems like they just selected random ones .
