I recently received a corrected SSA 1099 showing $994 in benefits. Do I need to file an amended return if my income was $203,806?

You didn't say how much the benefits were on your original SSA-1099. If the difference is more than a few dollars you should file an amended return.

With total income of over $200,000, 85% of your Social Security benefits are taxable. If the corrected amount is less than the amount you reported on your original tax return, you should file an amended return because you will get a refund. If the corrected amount is more than the amount you reported on your original tax return, you must file an amended return, and you will have to pay additional tax on the added Social Security income.
