I recently filed my taxes and forgot that an inactive account received the $600 stimulus last month. Do I have to change my current 2020 taxes and report I got the stimulus?

If you have already filed your income tax return, you must wait until the original return is accepted or rejected on February 12.  If your return is rejected, you can make the correction using these instructions: (You can also use these instructions if you have not filed)

1. Log into Turbotax
2. Click Federal Review ( you should see "Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount")
3. Click Continue
4. Click "Yes" and fill in the correct information

If accepted, most likely, the IRS will detect that you received your stimulus payment and adjust your refund accordingly.  If the IRS does not auto-correct your refund, you must file an amended income tax return and pay back the difference.
