I received a notice from EDD CA stating I have an overpayment from 2020. I've already setup a payment plan. Will they deduct the amount owed from state? Federal? both?

not sure of your situation since EDD has to do with employment taxes. so it would seem you have an overpayment of employment taxes in 2020.   employment taxes are separate from income taxes. so is the payment plan for payroll taxes or income taxes?

Is this for unemployment?  I think that comes from EDD.
