I received a letter from my county stating the cash benefits received in 2019. where do i add this to my refund?

Did you receive a notice about welfare benefits received from your county?

The IRS says that these benefits are not considered taxable income per Publication 525. See below.

Welfare and Other Public Assistance Benefits (page 27)

"Don’t include in your income governmental benefit payments from a public welfare fund based upon need......."
