Did you receive that email after filing your return? If you haven't filed your return yet and received that email, it could have been that someone mistakenly entered the wrong email address when filing their return. I got And email from Turbo tax telling me that I would have to pay the bill out of my checking account because my refund was delayed or did not have enough To pay the bill but nobody will explain anything to me what is going on with my taxes our day delayed or they garnished
Have you checked Where’s My Refund? it has the most up to date information available about your refund. The tool is updated daily (usually overnight) so you will just usually need to check once a day for progress.
If your refund is reduced for a federal tax debt you will receive a notice from the IRS. If your refund is reduced for another type of debt you will receive a notice from the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS). You can call the BFS at 800-304-3107.
