I filed my tax return on February 15 and have received my state income tax refund check via us mail but not my federal income tax refund. I mailed in my returns on February 15. I usually get my federal income tax return within four weeks and I usually mail them to the Fresno, California, IRS address but this year turbotax instructed me to mail them to the Ogden, Utah, IRS address and I wonder if this might be the problem. I then re-mailed the tax returns a second time to the IRS address in Ogden, Utah, with an explanation that when I checked for my refund status online that the IRS indicated that had not received my tax return. I was going to try to file them electronically with turbotax but couldn't find the saved tax returns within the turbotax system so I am wondering if somehow they didn't get saved online because I had called to talk to a turbotax representative when I had a question about the health insurance coverage form document number, but I do have the returns on my laptop. I have tried to call the IRS but they say that they are understaffed and so can't take calls. I am just concerned that either I have sent my return to the incorrect IRS address or it wasn't accepted since my tax return is not actually on the turbotax website. Please help!!!! Can someone please call me at [phone number removed]?
Thank you
Catherine

It doesn't matter which office you send it to. The IRS will process it in any office. The IRS is currently not processing any mailed returns and hasn't been for some time. Mailed returns are being stacked in trailers unopened. You will not be able to track the status of your return until the IRS start processing it.
Since it has been so long, you might try getting help from the Taxpayer Advocate Service: https://www.irs.gov/taxpayer-advocate
Did you use the online product that you log in to or did you use the CD/download product installed on your computer? Some filers have more than one online account and mistakenly log in to the wrong one when searching for their return. Use this to find other accounts: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/account-management/help/how-many-turbotax-accounts-do-i-have/00/26...
I am being charged to efile my State return. I have the Deluxe version and both the State and Federal returns were supposed to be for free to file. Why is there now a fee?
If you used the CD/download version installed on your computer, efiling the state return is not free. There is an extra fee. State efiling is free with the online version but not the CD/download version. You can avoid the state efiling fee by printing and mailing your state return.
