I'll assume you are preparing a formal amended return Form 1040X.
Were you due a Federal refund with your original return, and have you received it?
It's recommended to wait until you get your original Federal refund before amending.
But here's what you can try to see if it gets you where you want to be.
Open the amended return you are preparing, and once open, go to the left menu column.
Click on TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS.
In the Tools window click the blue button TOPIC SEARCH.
In the Topic Search line enter either of these terms without quotes: economic impact payment or stimulus.
Highlight the selection and click GO.
Thank you for responding, however it didn't seem to work.
I have received my tax return, so I am filling out a 1040-X. I took the recommended steps however it resulted the same way as my other methods. They check my documents then say, "Nice! Your federal return is in great shape!", without asking if I got my stimulus or not. I know I am eligible I have multiple letters confirming that, but still TurboTax won't ask about it.
When I go through those steps, I can get back to the 6475 Letter info I entered with my stimulus amount. But I have no way to test an amended return.
I'd hold off and wait for now to see if anyone else sees this thread and comments. A lot of folks are posting in the forum during the day, including some TurboTax employees.
