I purchased turbo tax deluxe c/d download for my family member but wanted to know since it’s good up to 5 efile federal can I use it for mine even though I did mine already but they are to take

No.  If you already used online TurboTax and e-filed then it is too late unless your return is rejected.  If it is rejected you could just "walk away" from your online account and use your family member's desktop software (with their permission).  If the IRS accepts your e-file, you are stuck.

So you already did your return in the Online version?  Did you efile it?  Then you are done.  If you haven't efiled yet or it rejects you can move it to the Desktop program.  We can tell you how.

Yes thank you just I filed mine online with app and used max benefits to take charges from my return but family member purchased cd/ turbo tax asking for help I didn’t know it was valid up to 5 efile returns so mistake was not waiting

Don't forget that for next year.  Yes the Desktop CD/Download program is better.  It can do unlimited returns and efile 5 for free.  The rest you can print and mail.  Deluxe comes 2 ways, Deluxe with a state program and Deluxe without a state.  So be sure to buy the right one.  You get one free state program download to prepare state returns (in the same state) but each state return is 19.99 to efile (usually goes up to 24.99 in March).  Or you can print and mail state for free.

Be sure to tell them to save often.  The returns are only saved and stored on the computer and not online.

The CD can be installed on as many computer as you the purchaser of the CD own.

With the CD version you can e-file a maximum of 5 returns per e-mail address. After the 5th return, you can still prepare as many returns as you like. However, they will have to be printed, signed and mailed to the IRS. This is not a TurboTax restriction. It's an IRS requirement and federal law.
