I need to erase or stop my tax return that i registered today, it was accepted but i accidentally claimed my dependent when someone else claims him, how can i do this?

I didn't get the 600 for dependent from 2nd stimulus check, so i filed my return (even though i dont usually file) to get the 600 but later realized that my dad claims my son and i can go the non filers form on irs site to do this. So i need to delete my return that was accepted today

If  you filed and it was accepted then it's too late to stop it.  Now you need to amend.

You cannot cancel or change or add anything on the return that you e-filed.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox

If the IRS accepts your return, then you have to wait until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund or paid the tax due. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return 1040X and mail it in. You cannot e-file an amended return.  Meanwhile, DO NOT change anything on your return until you start the amended return. If you did change or add the missing info then take it out and put your return back to the way it was when you first filed it.

You can check your efiling status here,

how would I change anything on it? it won't let me make edits to it now I don't think. Can't I call the irs or something and explain what happened?
