I need to ask for an extension or payment plan for what I owe

I am very frustrated with my experience with Gayle. She was adamant that I would still be able to file for an extension on payment plan for what I owed on my taxes after checking out. Low and behold, that was not the case.. Does anyone have any experience filing for a payment plan after checking out with turbo tax?

An extension does not give  you extra time to pay your tax due.  An extension only gives you extra time to file your 1040, but you still have to pay your estimated tax due by the filing deadline of April 18, 2022 when you request an extension.   If you need a payment plan with the IRS:
